In the frantic rhythm of modern life, the rich as well as the poor look for happiness. Every one on the planet longs for a better life: to have something to eat, to possess material goods, to love and be loved, to have a good job... And yet, we all know that happiness is something so difficult to attain. For the poor, the destitute, those who are alone, the sick... true happiness is an ideal often too far beyond daily reality.
This situation is not new. All the great Masters known to humanity have taught in concrete terms how human beings can attain Bliss. The key to the problem lies within ourselves. According to the Teaching of all these Masters, the one and only way to find lasting happiness is first by the annihilation of the very root of the ego, the “I”, which keeps separated from the felicity of our Being and second, the unselfish service to others. These are the two primary aspects of the Path that the Masters have taught us.
Thus, from the beginning of time, within the walls of the Monasteries of every great religion (Christian, Buddhist, Hindu, etc.) far from the turbulence of everyday life, men and women withdrew into Nature to meditate on Life and the Divine in order to study this liberating Knowledge and to serve their fellowman.
Those Masters who taught Humanity the Monastic Tradition (Jesus, Buddha, Krishna, Quetzalcoatl, Mohammed...) all insisted on the absolute necessity of renouncing the fleeting pleasures of life and of loving and serving our neighbor. Otherwise, any attempt to attain happiness and spiritual advancement is doomed to failure.
According to ancient Gnostic Tradition, every aspect of monastic life was minutely orchestrated so as to allow its adepts to vibrate, to resonate within. By combining Contemplation and voluntary detachment from the attractions of the world, one was able to experience Reality, true Awakening. Afterwards, through their love for others and having renounced their own selfish pursuits, one sought to pass on the Torch of Knowledge so that others too could find the Path leading to true Bliss.
There is so much suffering on the planet. How can one continue living his life in denial of this fact? How can we even long for Self-Realization and spiritual well-being without showing, by concrete action, our devotion to those who suffer by helping them materially, morally, and spiritually? The great Beings known to mankind have all given their lives to relieve the suffering of our brothers and sisters. For are we not all members of the one great human family?
Having taken directly from the very source of authentic monastic Tradition, Samael Aun Weor established the Training Course for Instructors (Missionaries). This course, as given by the International Gnostic Movement, teaches students to live the two fundamental aspects of the initiatory Way: (1) the search for that state of Contemplation which allows to die to oneself (Mystical Death) and to be born anew (the Second Birth); and (2) the Denial of Self for the love of others. It is through daily first-hand experience, meditative practice, experience sharing, conferences and a special training as lecturer/instructor that these two aspects are attained.
The International Gnostic Movement therefore invites all those who wish to experience the esoteric Way directly to deepen their Gnostic experience by participating in the Course for Instructors so as to share this unique Message with all those, like us, which are searching.
